I participated in my first egghead conference this weekend. Loads of interesting music nerds from around Europe assembled in Edinburgh to sit quietly and listen to research presentations for hours on end. Here we are enjoying a post-conference pint at the Royal Oak, where we listened to an unamplified, unaccompanied old man singing traditional Scottish folk songs.
